Something Fishy In The Deep Blue Sea... Revlon Royal, Sinful Colors Green Ocean

Well, I started out with a totally different concept related to honoring Memorial Day, but that when wrong quick. My lesson learned was that it is not easy to stamp on darkish base colors with other medium to darkish colors even if they are totally different colors...i.e., Red on Royal Blue.  Did not work so easily! : o

So with the Royal Blue on as a starting point, I had to think of a different direction to go in. I thought either a sky or water related theme. With that in mind, I revisited my nail art plates and as soon as I saw these cute fish I then had my theme..."water and fish".

I wanted to make it a bit more interesting then just an image smacked in the middle of a creme based color, so I needed another element.  As soon as I went to my glitter polishes my eyes landed on Sinful Colors Green Ocean that was it...done deal.  Here is what I came up with...hope you like it!  : )

I think these little sea creature images are very cute! What do ya think?

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat (applied previous day)
  • Revlon Top Speed in Royal...2 coats (applied previous day)
  • Sinful Colors in Green Ocean...1 coat (applied previous day)
  • Out the Door...1 coat (applied previous day)
  • Nail Plate Konad m27
  • Sinful Colors in Snow Me White For Image Color
  •  Sache Vite...1 coat

Sally Hansen... Sun Kissed Stamping

I love stamping, but I don't understand why some of these makers of the stamp plates don't make the "full nail" images big enough for my full nails! I never considered myself to have large nail beds...I have seen bigger. I know they are not small either... I have seen smaller too. What gives? I have average nail beds, or at least I used to think that! I tried  a few different images and they were all too small for all my nails except my pinky nail! I now think I have man hand or something...what gives?

Anyone know of a company that make bigger designs?...because clearly my man hands need them!

Love this design, but you can see on the sides of my nails where they lack the design. :(

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat (applied previous day)
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Sun Kissed...2 coats (applied previous day)
  • Out the Door...1 coat (applied previous day)
  • Nail Plate RA 113
  • Konad Special Polish in Yellow For Image Color
  •  Sache Vite...1 coat

Sally Hansen... Perfect Summer Color... Sun Kissed

I am soooo ready for the summer! I love the warm, summer days here in Florida (except for the entire month of August...it gets too hot and waaaay to humid)!  Florida is great in that only two months out of the year is cold and the rest of the year is "shorts weather"!

Anyway, since this is how I have been feeling lately,  today I am posting a lovely, summery orange called Sun Kissed by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. I is a yellow based orange with a nice, bright, creme color. The formula is a little bit on the thick side and took only 2 coats for full coverage. The brush is an average sized brush... wish everyone would upgrade their brushes to the bigger ones... I love them. : )

I love this color and I will be stretching this manicure an extra day or two with some kind of stamping. I totally love stamping! That will be posted next.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Sally Hanse Xtreme Wear...2 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

Sassy Cat & Finger Paints... Grape Gumball Style

I loved the last fun, little frog image I used  so much I wanted to do another similar stamping. When I was going through my collection of nail plates I knew I had a sassy little cat image I wanted to use, but finding it among all the various images was the real challenge. I searched and searched and could not find it...had me thinking... well maybe I don't have it and maybe I saw it on someone's blog...it's possible. As I went on to find a different idea,  I finally came across that very cute sassy cat image...yeaaaaah! I got so excited... you would think I won the lottery. I had to calm my self down and remind myself...it's just a nail plate, Kelly!

Oh the things I get amped up over these days...it does not take much! LOL :) So here it is...I am finally getting around to blogging it. I did it a few days ago.

Hope you like it! I think it is a cute little image of a sassy little cat. I love cats (and all animals) :)

I am really having fun with stamping...I love it!

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat (applied previous day)
  • Finger Paints in Grape Gumball...2 coats (applied previous day)
  • Out the Door...1 coat (applied previous day)
  • Nail Plate RA 113
  • Konad Special Polish in White For Image Color
  •  Sache Vite...1 coat

Finger Paints... Grape Gumball

What I have on here is Finger Paints in Grape Gumball.  I never tried this brand before, so I bought just this one bottle in this brand. I got this polish a while ago because I loved the shade of purple, it is a blue-purple, plus it had a nice silver micro shimmer to it.

The color is very nice. It is a nice deep blueish-purple, but not too deep...it's perfect.  The formula is good, but the brush is a bit on the narrow side...not a big deal. Coverage is great. It only took 2 coats for complete coverage. Some may be happy with just one coat. It was very close to being completely covered in one coat. Over all this is a good purchase.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Finger Paints in Grape Gumball...2 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

Question for you guys... I have been trying a variety of things on my nails for the peeling and weakness of them, but with everything I have been trying it has been keeping my nails from growing. In the past week or so I have not put anything on my nails and they have have finally started growing again.
Question is... have you experienced this? Weird stuff...what's up with that?

Revlon... Posh... Taken To The Next Level

OMG... How cute is this? When I was selecting a nail plate image to use I knew I wanted to just try a small image instead of a full nail size image. When I saw this little frog I thought it would work well. I did not know this was going to be so friggin' cute! I could not stop looking at my nails and shoving them in everyone's face to show people how cute they are!

When selecting the color for the frog I was grabbing up the white, but I thought that would be too bright and an "in your face" kind of color with the brightness of the green. Then I saw this pastel green and I wasn't sure if it would work well, but I went with it anyway.  And I am pleased with it... gland I choose this color. What do ya think? What color would you have selecting for the frog?

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat (applied previous day)
  • Revlon in Posh...2 coats (applied previous day)
  • Out the Door...1 coat (applied previous day)
  • Konad Nail Plate m30
  • Konad Special Polish in Pastel Green For Image Color
  •  Sache Vite...1 coat

Oh how cute...how much I love this mani! I can' wait to do more stamping. I wish I had more time to do this everyday!

I just ordered another set of nail plates from amazon...hehe! As if the 100 plates and 9,000 nail images is not enough.  I am exaggerating, but I do have plenty that I have not used and probably didnt need to make another purchase just yet. I couldn't help it! LOL!

Love, Love, Love This Color - Revlon... Posh

This is one of MANY polishes I have purchased and not yet used. It has been calling to me ever since I snatched it up off the shelf at Target. I was drawn to this color at first glance and instantly knew I was buying it the second I laid my eyes on it. I have avoided it because it is outside my comfort level...well, the comfort level I had before my "addiction" started! Blues and greens on nails were weird to me. I have finally put it on and I absolutely LOVE it!

OK, what the devil was I doing? My OCD can not get past the wrong order of the bottles in this pic! I always put the bottles in order of layers from left to right...wt*!!! The Revlon Posh should be in the middle...urrggg! I would take a new pic but it has been on a couple days now and is chipped plus I added some nail art (will post later...it is super cute!). A little OCD... I know. It is something I am working on, but this is bothering me... : \

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Revlon in Posh...2 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

The polish was easy to work with and only took 2 coats, which I love. I was not loving the brush...too skinny...too many swipes to get a nail done. However, the fab color overrides any negatives I would have about this polish...Love It!

Wet n Wild Megalast... Undercover

Here we have another Wet n Wild Megalast...this ones color is called Undercover. I loved the last one so much I went and bought ALL the colors in this line (except one red one I still can't find).  Well... they were on sale for $.99... 50% off... so it was justified in my mind! : )

I love this one for the same qualities as the last Megalast for Wet n Wild On A Trip post... great brush, easy to apply, great formula and it only took two coats. This color is a mauve-rose, but is a bit more on the brown side than I was able to capture in these photographs.

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Wet n Wild in Undercover...2 coats
  • Seche Vite...1 coat

THE REST OF THE STORY
See all Wet n Wild Megalast Polishes posts...
The entire line of colors are amazing!

Piggy Polish... Mermaid

I was feeling like putting on something a little on the lighter and paler side, but not super pale. So I decided to go with this polish I picked up from Ulta called Piggy Polish in Mermaid. It was lighter and paler, but seemed to have a little pizazz to it due to it's iridescence.

When I was at Ulta I was actually looking for the Layla Holos, but the store closest to me did not have them...just the Layla magnetic polish :(   So do you think that meant I left without any polish?...Yeah right! They had so much to select from it was crazy. I left with a good half dozen polishes. Well... I went all the way out there, so I didn't want to make it a wasted trip ;) LOL!

For this manicure I applied the following:
  • Milani Smoothe Base Coat
  • Piggy Polish in Mermaid...4 coats
  • Out the Door...1 coat

It is very, very sheer. I applied 4 coats and can still easily see my nail line. This is a very pretty color and I was happy with it for the most part. Really, the only thing I did not like about it was applying so many coats...takes too long.

As a side note, Just Add Polish is having a Summertime Giveaway.  The winner gets either Zoya Beach Collection or Zoya Surf Collection! If you have not already done so...check it out!
